Clean Up PC in 4 Easy Steps

Every now and then you need to clean up PC storage areas to keep it running fast and error free. Therefore, we put together a simple do-it-yourself guide to speeding up your PC in 4 easy steps.

Step 1: Update Windows

While most people put this off because it is time consuming and requires a restart, it is something that needs to be done. So, quit putting it off and do it now.

Step 2: Detect and repair disk errors

This is another time-consuming task but it should be done probably twice a year to make sure your computer is free from errors.

Step 3: Disk Cleanup

The more you use the computer, the more junk will build up. You will need to clean up the files to free up space and allow your computer to run faster. This is easily done, but be warned. If this is the first time you have done this, it could take a few minutes for the Disk Cleanup utility to pop up as it is compressing all your trash.

Step 4: Clean the Registry

The last thing you need to do is clean out the registry. The registry is a complex set of files which everything on your computer runs through. Every time you turn on your computer and do anything the registry changes.

You will need a good registry cleaner to straighten the mess out, but it will only take two minutes for it to fix all the errors and get it running like new. It will scan, diagnose, and clean up PC storage leaving you with nothing but a highly-optimized PC.
